Today, as a Spiritual Mentor and Intuitive, I felt compelled to connect with one of my long-term students who has grown tremendously over the years. I am honored to have had the opportunity to mentor her and watch her spiritual journey unfold. Though she did not ask for advice, her higher-self was calling out to me, and I felt it was important to share some of my wisdom to guide her along her path.
The conversation goes as follows: I sent her a post I saw on social media (the exact post is shown above), knowing that it would resonate and spark a conversation that she was dying to have. Remember, “all roads lead home”. She thanked me and said that I was too. To which I replied:
“Great moms stick together! Especially in this world where so many are robots.”
This sparked a conversation about stigma placed on spiritual beings about being different or bold and how if you dare to be bold you are looked at in a negative manner. Reminding her that when we come to a place where we set ego aside, and that is a battle all in of its own, we rise and shine. Stigma is a reflection of ego and takes away your power. When we honor our gifts and abilities to help others, and don’t care about the comments, then you are seen in your true light and the right people will find you. However, the ones who make snide remarks and judge you just need to heal and by your shining your light it will spark something in them and when that spark gets lit it may flicker or come ablaze yet, it is not on us to fan their spark.
As I sat in my bed with bronchitis, it gave me the silence I needed to sit with myself and reflect. As I did that, I scrolled through Facebook. I saw so many articles and videos about Britney Spears. I couldn’t help but use this as a reflection on my growth and journey while I watched this video. I then did what my therapist told me not to do, pay attention to drama and gossip as it lowers your vibration and mindset. It is not recommended when you are trying to raise your vibration and have positivity in your life. I went down the comment rabbit hole. As I read the comments, there was so much anger and hate being directed towards her.
We are all energy. We radiate energy, and the energy you direct towards another is more powerful than you know. I have a few points to this. The first one is this: what about Britney Spears dancing with knives that bothers you? Why is she crazy? Why does this make you feel uncomfortable? Why do you feel the need to comment on her mental health, something none of us know about? We only know what the headlines say. I am not saying this is everyone, what I am saying is this: why is there such a stigma around being bold or different?
If you dare to be bold or different, you’re looked at as crazy. I myself struggle with mental health, and what I can tell you is this: it takes true strength to tap into the things you hate about yourself, trauma or bad patterns, and heal yourself from the inside out. That is powerful. That is to be commended. Extending your hand to those who might need love and light and kind words. That is beautiful. That is the kind of person I choose to be. Stop the judgement.
Do you know what I saw when I watched this video? I see a person who is beautifully broken. Someone who has been told for so long that everything is wrong with her. Words are powerful and they can break someone and sometimes that leads to a dark place. I see someone fighting to take back her life and rise from everything that was meant to break her.
We are all energy no matter what your spirituality is. It is scientifically proven energy is in everything around us and it is within each and every single living thing in the universe. It is extremely powerful. If there is constant negativity it is draining, it breaks you down.
That is where healing comes in, that work will be something you choose to do every day of your life. No one will ever be perfect. If you choose to do this work, you learn to protect your energy from negativity. I am not saying you won’t have bad or hard days. You will. However, you will ebb and flow through your hardships differently. You will know that for every dark night the light will shine.
Dancing is a form of art expression and healing that helps the endorphins in your brain flow. It is healing. I see Britney cutting through the darkness and light to heal and overcome everything that was meant to break her. I see someone expressing their pain and embracing healing. I see her sharing it with the world because you know she is a performer. She has always had her life in the spotlight. She doesn’t know any different. She is in the thick of her healing journey. That can’t be easy.
It is so odd to me that people are judged for expressing themselves in a different way, out-of-the-box way. She was not hurting anyone or herself. I understand safety and self-harm precautions should always be thought about. That is not what I saw. We all have struggles and tribulations with mental health. Cultures have danced with knives in ceremonies for centuries, including famous people like Shakira and Georgian, as well as ballerinas. It is a form of expression, an art. However, because it’s Britney, she’s “crazy”. Who says? You? Who are you to judge another?
Embrace her and try to understand. Send love and light for her healing, support her.
This applies to everyone, even if it is at a distance. Don’t judge or spew hate. Embrace being different, embrace expression and individuality. Stop seeing the world in black and white, stop doing what you’re told to believe and look inside yourself and pull the colors and sparkles of the universe and do what you believe. Only then will you see the world in a different way. Dare to be different! So I ask, what do you believe?

This is a great example of how a mentor can help spark our inner knowing. To have a safe, non judgmental place to express ourselves. A mentor helps shine a light for us into the shadows. Someone who listens, and can ask the tough questions as we uncover the highest version of ourselves. Who can see the light within us, and sees the healed version that is there even amidst the chaos around us.
I know I wouldn’t be where I am at today without a strong mentor in my life.
